Gentle Persuasive Approaches in Dementia Care (GPA®) is a multi-disciplinary evidence-based dementia care curriculum that equips health care providers, students and volunteers with the knowledge, skills and confidence to apply a respectful, person-centred approach when interacting with older adults with dementia. To date, Advanced Gerontological Education (AGE) has trained 3,074 GPA Certified Coaches who have delivered the program to more than 288,000 healthcare providers and students in 1,700+ organizations across Canada. Together, we are enhancing the care of older Canadians. We thank The Ottawa Hospital for their heartfelt commitment to GPA.

Age Partners with New Brunswick Continuing Care Safety Association (NBCCSA) to bring GPA to Point-of-Care Staff across New Brunswick

AGE will deliver its Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) / Approches Douces et Persuasives (ADP) in Dementia Care to the NBCCSA’s point-of-care staff in health and community organizations throughout New Brunswick, in both official languages. GPA roll-out to the NBCCSA’s membership begins in June with a bilingual GPA/ADP Coach Workshop in Fredericton. The roll-out ties in with the official launch of Approches Douces et Persuasives (ADP) to the Francophone market across Canada at the beginning of June. Learn more
